- RADIATOR TANK COVER -
What is radiator
?
´ A radiator is a type of
heat exchanger. It is designed to transfer heat from the hot coolant that flows
through it to the air blown through it by the fan.
´ Most modern cars use
aluminium radiators. These radiators are made by brazing thin
aluminium fins to flattened aluminium tubes.
´ Radiators are mainly used in
automobiles but also in piston engine aircraft, railway
locomotives, motorcycles and stationary generating plants.
Functionality -
´ The radiator is responsible for
preventing the engine from
overheating. When the engine is in use, it produces a lot of friction and
heat, and the radiator uses coolants to keep the engine running at a healthy
temperature
´ The radiator is the main part of the
car's cooling system, and its primary function is to ensure exactly the right
temperature for the car's engine to operate at maximum potential.
Materials –
´ The radiator cover are made from
plasti and crimped to the radiator core
´ The radiator cover also made up of
fiber loaded thermoset polymer ,it may be BAKE-O-LITE
´ Nylon 66 plastic with 25% Reinforced
Glassfiber are widely used in manufacturing of radiator covers.
Manufacturing process –
´ Most of the Nylon 66 radiator cover
parts are manufactured by Injection moulding method.
´ Injection moulding is
a manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting material
into a mold.
´ In Injection moulding machine,
material for the part is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and forced into a mould
cavity, where it cools, hardens and takes the shape of the cavity.
